The Andrew Jackson Foundation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician Lead to oversee the preservation and upkeep of our historic and non-historic buildings, grounds, and structures. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our facilities while supporting the visitor experience at The Hermitage, Home of President Andrew Jackson.

What you will be doing:

• Lead and supervise the Facilities Maintenance and Grounds staff.
• Perform hands-on maintenance across multiple trades, including carpentry, HVAC, painting, and repairs.
• Ensure proper function of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Identify, prioritize, and recommend necessary repairs or improvements.
• Partner with contractors and vendors on specialized projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed.
• Support special events with set-up and take-down as needed.
• Assist with grounds care and routine power equipment maintenance.
• Perform other related duties to ensure smooth facility operations.

What you will need:

• Strong knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Proficiency in multiple trades: carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and multitask effectively.
• Professional demeanor and reliability in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of general maintenance or HVAC experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stoop, bend, lift, and walk regularly.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to access different areas across the property.
